The NPL Football Academy is delighted to announce that Radcliffe Borough student Connor Hayes has secured a coaching position in America.
Connor joined the pilot programme in 2014 and successfully completed his BTEC in Sport Level 2 qualification in 2015 before moving on to complete his first year of the BTEC in Sport Level 3 Diploma this summer.
Back in September 2015, our pathway partners Soccer Chance USA visited Radcliffe Borough to discuss playing and coaching scholarship options with our students. It was from that presentation that sparked the interest for Connor to pursue a career in Coaching and especially in America.
Since then Connor has gained his FA Level 1 coaching and was the manager of local junior side Waterloo AFC U8’s as he looked to gain experience to achieve his ambition.
That ambition was activated when he received the news last week that he had been accepted by Global Premier Soccer (GPS) who are Soccer Chance USA’s partners for a coaching position in New Jersey starting in September.
Hayes stated “I would like to thank the NPL Football Academy and Radcliffe Borough for everything they have done for me. I fly out for an initial 3 month stint from August 31st to November 15th before returning for 9 months in the new year. I am looking forward to going out and enjoying the experience and would also like to thank GPS for the opportunity they have given me.”
Everyone at the NPL Football Academy would like to wish Connor the very best of luck in the future and we will be keeping a close eye on him throughout his time in the USA.
