Writer's picture: ESPFAESPFA

Congratulations to all students who have been nominated at the club they represent 'Player of the Half Term'.

Here, the coaches explain why they have chosen their respective students for their quality and attitude on the training pitch and their performances in the league and cup games over the last six/seven weeks.

ESPFA LANCASHIRE (Skelmersdale United)

"There has been a couple of students who could have had this award but I’m awarding it to JOE TURNER. Joe never stops working in training and games. He’s had a fantastic attitude throughout and tries to put into practice what we are working on. He deserves this award."

- Graham Hastings

ESPFA WEST YORKSHIRE (Ossett United)

"ASHTON GAWTHORPE has spent most of his time on the course as a goalkeeper, however, in recent times he has had a run of games as an outfielder and has been a standout player, displaying pace, power, athleticism, leadership skills and goal contributions."

- Isaac Assenso

ESPFA GREATER MANCHESTER (Mossley)

"YOUNIS IQBAL has improved his leadership this half term, being a guide for players both on the pitch and off it, alongside improving his own ability and showing it in games"

- Jordan Vincent

ESPFA CHESHIRE (Runcorn Linnets)

"RYAN MCALPINE leads by example with his application and efforts in training and has been a key player in all our games this half term. His technical excellence and physical profile means he is very versatile where he has been effective in both central defence and central midfield roles."

- Steve Chaney

ESPFA CHESHIRE (Witton Albion)

"For this half term I would like to nominate BEN FELLOWS. His attitude in training has been excellent and his application in games has mirrored this. As a first year it can be daunting but he has more than held his own with his peers and has really started to have an influence on games. Despite suffering an injury his attitude never dropped and has come back even more determined. Keep it up Ben!"

- Peter Currah-Hall

ESPFA WEST YORKSHIRE (Brighouse Town)

"My player of half term is ABEL KELEM. Abel is always open to feedback and is self motivated to continually improve his game. Abel’s decision making during training and in games has continued to develop allowing him to make decisions that have a positive impact on the team."

- Kevin Ward
